The Locker Problem.
Only the square roots are open because they have an odd number # of factors unlike the rest have an even # of factors. And because it wont get touched again and won't be changed cause of the number increasing. Ex. 14 has the factors 1, 2,7,14 that's 4 factors and 4 is even. Ex. 25 has the factors 1,5,25 that are 3 factors and 3 are odd.
There are 31 perfect squares in 1000 and all 31 are open. The pattern was that every perfect square stayed open.

Only 1, 4, 9 are open and they are all perfect squares.
